This movie is so 80's I can't believe it was made in 1995. I believe this movie to be the forgotten National Lampoon's classic, and it's been one of my favourites for a long time and took a while to track down. Watching this movie you'll see every 80's teen movie stereotype that you can think of. The cool guy, the nerdy pretty girl, the slut, the fat kid, the stoner, the lesbian, the computer nerd...the list is endless. This movie doesn't try to be groundbreaking and original, but it doesn't need to. It's got entertaining down pat.

Cool guy Dags and his stoner buddy Reggie rock up to school late one day, just in time to trash an anti drug assembly that their straight laced principal has arranged - and that is only the beginning. Feeling bored with the everyday tedium of their high school lives, they decide that it's time for another senior class party. But this time, they must raise the stakes and make things a little bit more interesting. They're gonna throw a party at the Principals house. Dags has the hots for Lisa, a pretty honour student, who pretends she can't stand the sight of him, but we all know different. He urges her to come along to the party and not realising where its being held, she actually shows up. Just as she is leaving, Principal Moss  walks through the door, leaving her to get busted with Dags and the rest of his buddies - resulting in a Saturday detention, all thanks to student body president Steve snitching on them.

When Dags denies responsibility for the party at Principal Moss' house and instead blames the school system Principal Moss orders the students to write a letter to the president explaining what is wrong with the education system. While the other kids goof off and watch movies, Lisa actually writes an intelligent letter to the president, prompting him to ask the students to speak on his behalf about his bill for education reform. Senator Lerman, however wants to take the presidents job and pas his own pocket lining education reform bill and is delighted to find that except for Lisa, the students from Fairmount High are screw-ups and stoners. He sets up the president to take a massive fall and sends the kids on their way to Washington at his request.

Principal Moss organises Steve to go along on the trip also to be his narc and let him know everything that Dags and Reggie are up to and once the bus arrives (with Red the Dope King as the driver) he heads off with the rest of the students and substitute teacher Miss Milford on a strict schedule to get them to Washington. Things don't go exactly as planned though with the kids robbing a convenience store, the bus driver drugging Principal Moss with a horse tranquiliser and then letting the school slut Carla paint him up with makeup, the kids then going on to drink themselves stupid, and finally with Red partying to death and the bus nearly crashing into a lake.

Eventually, they make it to Washington, only to be thrown out of the hotel where they had reservations when the kids break something expensive. They only reservations to be found are at a seedy motel decked out with torture gear and jungle themes. After getting Miss Milford drunk and leaving her to take care of Principal Moss, and tying up Steve, the kids head back to a party at the hotel they should have been staying at. And when Lisa lands the key to Senator Lermans buddy Frank Hardin's suite, not only is there a wild night ahead for all, but Lisa learns the terrible truth about Senator Lermans plans to embarrass the president.

The Senator doesn't give a damn what the kids think and kidnaps Miosky, token fat, mentally challenged kid and plans to use him alone to make the president look like a moron. Dags and the crew have to get to him before Senator Lerman gets him to speak or the presidents, and Principal Moss' careers are over!

Its an awesome high school movie, and a definite must see if you're into that kind of flick. I've also got to mention the weird subplot with the star trek obsessed crossing guard travelling cross country to assassinate Reggie, who he believes to be the Klingon leader, and Miosky's search for his elusive blonde Japanese true love. Hilarious!
