Snooze. How quickly we go from a month of greatness to a month of
squat. And yes, once again my update is late. I'm less motivated to
report unless there is something good to write about, otherwise I know
I am lumped with the task of filling six paragraphs with uninspired
dribble. Let the dribble begin!
On
the 6th,
you can purchase Blood Sucking Babes from Burbank if you're so
inclined. I was drawn to this movie because it sounds like a
combination of Blood Sucking Pharaohs in Pittsburgh and A Polish
Vampire in Burbank. It probably doesn't resemble either of those movies
in any way. Also on the 6th, BCI Eclipse continue to whore out He-Man
in the name of profits by releasing The Secret of the Sword as a single
DVD. Are we not meant to notice that it was the first disc in the Best
of She-Ra set? Whats that? A new art card? Damn you BCI! *shakes fist*
OMG
Like
you can buy The Hottie and the Nottie on the 6th too! OMG! And you can
also buy a gun and some bullets too! How relevant! Not sure about Kill
The Scream Queen, because it is made in 2004. If it was made in 1986 I
would have preordered it for sure. I'm not a fan of new low budget
horror, but the title sounds cool. Also worth a mention on the sixth is
a new remastered version of MST3K: The Movie.
The
only
REAL recommendation I have for you this month is out on the 20th. Diary
of the Dead. Buy it. Buy five. It's very very good, and we all must
support George, for he is the king. Worship aside, Diary of the Dead
was a great Zombie movie, and not at all Blair-Witch-ish with the
caSnooze. How quickly we go from a month of greatness to a month of

was a great Zombie movie, and not at all Blair-Witch-ish with the
camera angles and stuff. Yet another DVD version of Night of the Living
Dead is out on the 20th too, but unless George releases it himself, I
say stick with the five copies you probably already have. And Short
Circuit is out too. I have no way of linking that with Romero.
So...yeah.
On
the
27th, there's a bit of Argento love, which is always nice. Its good to
see two horror maestros getting a nod this month. There's a Steelbook
Collection containing Ti Piace Hitchcock? (Do You Like Hitchcock?),
Phenomena, Tenebre, Trauma and Il Cartaio (The Card Player). I haven't
seen Hitchcock, so this one might be woth picking up. Theres also
remastered versions of Phenomena and Tenebre, which along with Suspiria
are my favourite Argento films.
In
Australia we get a bit of Bruce love, with The Man With The Screaming
Brain and Alien Apocalypse out on the 14th. Crappy Day of the Dead is
out on the 14th too, and I wont be buying it. I'll be drawing rude
pictures on the cases with a sharpie and hoping I dont get busted.
There's also a movie called Kaw on the 14th about a flock of killer
ravens. Nice.
Now,
don't
hit me, but I haven't seen Cloverfield, and that's out on the 28th so
I'll be purchasing. Not an abysmal month, but nothing really to crack
out the happy dance for.
